Mercedes Teases New Maybach Model Ahead of L.A. Debut
The Maybach division of Mercedes-Benz is known far and wide for its super-luxurious, upscale vibe, and the sub-brand has yet to disappoint – especially now that a new Maybach model is on the way. Mercedes-Benz teased the new nameplate, called the Mercedes-Maybach S650, ahead of its debut in Los Angeles with an up-close-and-personal video clip that intimately shows off some of the details of the exterior and interior.
The Mercedes-Maybach S650 follows in the footsteps of its predecessor, the Maybach S600, in addition to taking styling cues from the futuristic Vision Mercedes-Maybach 6 concept. So, the real question is what are the key differences between the S650 and the S600? Well, to put it simply the S650 will be a convertible. Critics also expect the latest installment in the lineup to harbor a twin-turbocharged V12 under the hood for optimized power and performance.
Mercedes has announced that only 300 units of the new Maybach model will be launched. Pricing has not yet been unveiled, but the former S600 model started at $232,400, reflecting the vehicle’s high-end luxury status. With Burmester sound systems, Nappa leather upholstery, and unique trim in the interior, as well as a sleek design and incredible performance, it’s really no wonder why the price tag of this new Maybach is so high.
