Spring Car Care Tips to Keep Your Vehicle Running
Winter is over, but that doesn’t mean we can get lax on car care. Spring is the perfect time to help your vehicle recover from the cold winter months, so follow these easy spring car care tips to keep your car in great shape.
Give your car a thorough cleaning inside and out, being careful to clean off the undercarriage to remove any built-up salt and mud from the winter. These can cause rust, so it’s important to remove them as soon as possible. Give your car a wax, too, to protect the paint job from all the rain that’s coming. You’ll also want to clean the inside of the car, scrubbing the windows—especially to improve visibility.
Next, inspect the tires, which work hard over the winter and can be damaged or have worn tread. You should also check the tire pressure since it drops in cold weather; add air if needed. Then, you should change your windshield wipers, especially if you notice they’re squeaking or leaving streaks on the windshield.
Finally, get an oil and filter change and check the levels of your other fluids. If they’re low, top them off, or have this done by a mechanic. Schedule service today at Dick Dyer Mercedes!
